Auditions

  • ​

    Children’s Nutcracker roles are OPEN to any community dancers ages 6-10 who would like to perform in Cary Ballet Company's Nutcracker. If you are not a registered dancer at Cary Ballet Conservatory, contact info@caryballetcompany.org Subject: Children’s Audition for more information about auditioning.

    Cary Ballet Conservatory dancers enrolled in Primary I/II or Ballet I/II are invited to audition. In addition, students ages 6-10 enrolled in Beginner Ballet I/II or Elementary I/II are eligible to audition.

    ​

    • Auditioning for a Children’s Roles in Nutcracker does not guarantee being cast in the production.

    • This audition is for Nutcracker ONLY.

    • Please review the Nutcracker performance dates to ensure availability.

    • Minimum height requirement 50-58 inches.

    • If accepted, there is an annual Membership/Production Fee of $250.00 for a Children's Role paid to Cary Ballet Company.​

  • Full Company members must be currently enrolled Cary Ballet Conservatory student. 

    ​

    • Auditioning does not guarantee acceptance to Cary Ballet Company

    • If accepted, there is an annual Membership/Production Fee for Cary Ballet Company. 

      • The 2026 Membership/Production Fee is $525.00

    • Company members also pay a one-time fee directly to the Conservatory for our use of the building during Saturday Company Classes.

      • The 2026 'Conservatory Class for Company Dancers' fee due to Cary Ballet Conservatory is $450.00.

        • The 'Conservatory Class for Company Dancers' fee included Studio/PTP tuition, thus pre-paid for Studio/PTP students ONLY.

    Register in advance to audition on September 12, 2026 (Tentatively):

    • 9:00 - 10:45 AM - PTP, Studio III/IV, Advanced/Int III

    • 11:00 - 12:45 PM - Elementary III/IV, Intermediate I/II, Studio I/II

    • Dancers pre-register and pay $45 audition fee via PayPal Button.

    • Complete an Audition Registration form.

    • There is no make-up for the audition. Please connect with info@caryballetcompany.org if you have a conflict or questions.

    • Dancers are expected to come in their class attire, hair neatly secured, and pointe shoes if applicable.

    • Audition Registration form will be available August 2026

    • Pay $45 audition fee/dancer via PayPal below.

    • There is no alternate audition date/time. Please connect with info@caryballetcompany.org if you have a conflict or questions.

    • Dancers are expected to come in their class attire, hair neatly secured, and pointe shoes if applicable

    Applicants will be notified via email of audition results.

    Accepted dancers will gain access to the Member Portal.

    • Member Portal contains dancer contracts, rehearsal calendar, and more important information. Please sign-up to gain access.

    • A mandatory Parent's meeting will be held in September. Zoom option available in the Member Portal.

Dance With Us

Cary Ballet Company is a non-profit youth ballet company combining classical and contemporary ballet performances as well as community outreach and education. We strive to provide our company members with professional-level training, performing opportunities, master classes, audition experiences, collaborative arts events, and Artist in Residence programs. We are affiliated with Cary Ballet Conservatory and acceptance is by audition only. Note that the Company and the Conservatory are separate entities and tuition/fees/payments are handled separately.

As part of our mission, we offer our dancers the opportunity to perform in two major productions: The Nutcracker, a joyous holiday tradition will have ten performances across two venues in December, and two performances of our Spring Works near the end of our season. Spring Works production has not been announced yet.

Company dancers are expected to be available for rehearsals/Company classes Saturdays and limited Sundays (our season runs roughly the same as the academic calendar year). Theater tech rehearsals during the evenings leading up to the shows are mandatory. 

​

As a non-profit company, our volunteers are essential to our operations. Each family is expected to volunteer for a Committee to assist with each production. Committees choices include costuming, prop restoration, front of hour, back of hour, fundraising and more.
