Audition Guide

Audition Guide

The Nutcracker is a magical holiday tradition that families come to enjoy year after year! The one thing more magical is dancing IN The Nutcracker!!  Register in advance to audition on September 12, 2026:

  • 9:00 - 10:45 AM - PTP, Studio III/IV, Advanced/Int III

  • 11:00 - 12:45 PM - Elementary III/IV, Intermediate I/II, Studio I/II

  • 1:30 - 2:30 PM -  Children's Nutcracker Roles* ages 6-10. Primary I/II, Ballet I/II, Beginning Ballet, Elem I/II. 

      Community Dancers are welcome. Visit 'What is Cary Ballet Company?' for more information. 

      Auditioning for a Children’s Roles in Nutcracker does not guarantee being cast within the production.

*Children aged students who are not currently students of Cary Ballet Conservatory must be available to rehearse each Saturday and limited Sundays (2 Sundays max). Minimum height requirement: 4’0″ – 4’10” (50-58 inches). Theater tech rehearsals during the evenings leading up to the shows are mandatory. This audition is strictly for Nutcracker only. Ready to register? Complete this Registration Form available August 2026 and make sure to submit payment via PayPal below.

An online Parent Meeting will be held in September. The link is posted in the Member Portal. 

  • The Member Portal will open up after the results of the audition. It will have the dancer contracts, the rehearsal Team-up Calendar link, and other information. Please sign-up to be approved for access.

  • There is a one-time Membership/Production Fee of $525.00 (to be finalized by July 15, 2026), for a full company member or $250.00 for a Children's role. Company members will also pay a one-time fee of $450.00 for the Saturday 'Conservatory Class for Company Dancers' paid directly to the Conservatory. This is only for dancers in Elementary III/IV, Intermediate I/II classes. This class is included in the PTP and Studio Program tuition.

    • Dancers pre-register and pay $45 audition fee via PayPal Button.

    • Complete an Audition Registration form.

    • There is no make-up for the audition. Please connect with info@caryballetcompany.org if you have a conflict or questions.

    • Dancers are expected to come in their class attire, hair neatly secured, and pointe shoes if applicable.
